Manual Lymphatic Drainage
Manual Lymphatic Drainage is a key treatment for lymphoedema, venous oedema and leg ulcers. It also promotes recovery from wounds, burns and surgery.
Manual Lymphatic Drainage encourages the flow of lymphatic fluids around the body. This is achieved through gentle rhythmical movements of the skin which stimulate the contraction of the lymphatic vessels.
The lymphatic system removes toxins and waste products, as well as carrying white blood cells which help fight infection. A healthy lymphatic system is important for the optimal functioning of our body’s healing and defence mechanisms.
Some health conditions can interrupt the normal flow of lymph, causing the fluid to build up in a particular area of the body, often in the arms or legs, where it can cause swelling (a condition called lymphoedema). People may develop lymphoedema as a result of infections, cancer treatments that involve the removal of lymph nodes and any condition that damages the lymphatic system.
The cost for this service is £65. Please call Reception on 01462 678 804 to book your treatment.
